To Whom Does Delhi Belong?

To Whom Does Delhi Belong? What is our culture? if marathi's have Lavani,Punjabi's have Bhangra ,what is Delhi's Dance? Well this question has often come to my mind since i have started to explore my hometown and take pride in being a dilliwala and more so since i have seen Parties Like MNS,SS in maharashtra beating innocent Indians from other parts of the country in order to win favour with the marathi's and making it out to be their war to control their land, their culture.

Does delhi belong to the chandni chowkwala's or does it belong to a South delhi wala,Does it belong to the Punjabi's or the bhaiyyas of Up or does it belong to Jaats of Haryana, and if so then what about the Bihari's?
if it belong's to the above then what of the amazing Monuments built by the mughals that we delhiwala's take pride in showing others.Monuments that every Parent takes their kids to see,i am sure most of us delhiites  remember our parents taking us around the pleothera of Mughal monuments in the city be it the Red fort or the amazing humayun tomb or the Tall Quatub Minar.Shifting focus from Mughals, which is Delhi's Favourite Hangout zone,The place we call Heart of Delhi? Connaught Place, yes our dear connaught place, which was built by the Britishers, don't we take our relatives their whenever we take them on Delhi darshan,is cp or for that matter Parliament house a depiction of our culture or of the british's?
Does any other state has as large religious epicentres as the BanglaSaheb,SisGanj,Jama Masjid,Akshardham Temple,Cathedral Church of Redemption and the Church of Sacred Heart? So then what is Delhi's religion?

Well the fact is that few Delhi residents actually belong to Delhi. The population of Delhi is a heterogeneous mix of people originally belonging to different parts of North India and beyond. The Most Prominent North Indian community is of the Punjabis, who are the descendants of the refugees of the Indian Partition. But their dominance in recent years has been challenged by the increasing affluence of other North Indian communities. Delhi also has a prominent South Indian Community, in areas like RK Puram and Munirka. The Chittaranjan Park in south Delhi is the Mini Calcutta of Delhi. And the biggest irony is the fact that the descendants of the builders of Delhi's many Muslim monuments no longer stay in Delhi. Most of them migrated to Pakistan during the Partition, with only a small, community in Old Delhi keeping old courtly traditions alive

Amalgamation of so many different cultures,Languages, people is what Symbolises the Beautiful Nation That India is and This is a testimonial to the fact that India is a Nation Of Unity in Diversity. The Fact that delhi Welcomes People from All over country With it's open Arms is Why we Take pride in Being a Dilliwala and why we Set an example for all other states to follow.Without having a Single defined a culture,a Single Language, Delhi has built for itself a Pseudo culture,a pseudo langauge consisting of a mixture of hindi, english punjabi That we speak, that people coming from all parts of India understand is WHAT SETS US APART.

The Choice Should be Yours !

Right from the time i have started to understand this world i have always been baffled by this logic that one's religion is determined by the religion of the family that one is born in.Why are we born to our religion?

I know people would say that our constitution gives us the option of choosing our religion but common sit back and wonder how many people actually do use it, mostly the pressure from the society and parents is too much for a person to even think of taking that less trodden road and also those of  us who even use this right, use it for either selfish reasons or are influenced by extremist from any religion. If u see there are umpteenth examples of people who have converted to Islam just so as to allow themselves to marry again, history books have been filled with atrocities by some Christians sect in foreign lands against other religions such as the jews. The crimes against Christians in India in Recent years especially in  Orissa due to Graham Stains allegedly converting Hindus to Christians.A rationale offered for violence against Christians in India is that the community is growing at an alarming rate through forced conversions.examples such as the above are uncountable.

When a baby is born,he is born as an atheist, It is the parents who teach them the values of their own religion. India, the biggest democracy in the world proudly preaches the term "Unity in diversity" but yet it is a undeniable fact that it too suffers from communal hatred in some parts of its lands ,this country of ours which is known to be a epicentre of various cultures, why isn't it's policymakers/religious leaders liberal enough to think that why a child born in a Hindu family is automatically considered Hindu for his life, why is a child born in Sikh family is considered as a Sikh forever etc.

When every religion in the world allows and welcomes converts with their open arms, then  why shouldn't people be aware of the religion that they are choosing before the actually adopt it.why leave it to luck to decide in which religion you are born into ?

Now what i demand is that why do we people not create a system where students are not tagged in a particular religion based on where they are born and from the start are taught extensively about every religion of the world till the time he becomes intelligent enough to understand the pros and cons of every religion and to choose his/her religion.
why doesn't India set an example for the world to take a cue from ?

The benefits of such a system are :-

  • Every human being will be taught about every other religion and that will create awareness amongst the new generation and will help them to better understand the teachings of other religions and will together create a new generation of individuals that will not fight over petty misunderstandings between religious sects over various myths that have long contaminated the thinking's of present and past societies of the world. With better knowledge comes better understanding and this will hopefully drive our culture where there would be less hatred, less misconceptions amongst religious sects and hopefully riots over one's religion will be a thing of past or a far fetched rarest of rare possibility.
  • This will help in eradicating the division of people in sub religions created by Various Dhongi baba's and will prevent innocent people to be duped by these self proclaimed messenger's of god as most of the people would be aware of the teaching of every religion and thereby will not feel inclined towards the false claims of these Baba's.
  • This will make people less extremist as the feeling of "my religion" and "i was born into this religion and i will die in it" will be eradicated,as people will be more open minded and more exposed to this policy of change, the Power of choice.
I hope this article of mine is able to somewhat kickstart a small process in your head and influences you to think and imagine such a world,A world of Choice.I will Sign of with a line which i hope will remain in your minds and something that u remember after u Leave,So do not forget  "The Choice is Yours"

DE-MYSTIFYING NORTH KOREA !

North Korea (officially the Democratic People's Republic of Korea(DPRK) is a country in East Asia, occupying the northern half of the Korean Peninsula. Its one country on the map that has never ceased to intrigue me especially as it is a one party only, communist Country .North korea is an isolated country sharing boundaries with China and South Korea.

Leadership

North Korea is a single-party state and is lead by Kim Jong-il,Son of the Eternal president kim-il-sung and since they have no opposition, there Communist ways have long been criticized by the outside world. Critics maintain this Kim Jong-il personality cult was inherited from his father, Kim Il-sung. Kim Jong-il is often the center of attention throughout ordinary life in the DPRK. His birthday is one of the most important public holidays in the country. On his 60th birthday (based on his official date of birth), mass celebrations occurred throughout the country.

Life of The common Man

People of North korea still cannot acess global internet , only a Nationwide internet that too mostly censored to foreign websites.Although the North korea constitution allows freedom in speech to people and press but in practice it is not the case.only the News that is in favour of the rulers is allowed and that is what you would expect if all the media houses and press are government owned or run.The government has done all that it could to curb any dissent or public dissaproval. Recently The Indian british crossover film “Bend it like Bekham” was the first out world english film that was shown on a public Tv channel and was viewed by record no.'s of N.korean's.There is even widespread belief that Kim Il-sung "created the world", and Kim Jong-il can "control the weather"

Past

Born from a split in the Korean peninsula in the 1950s it was led by kim-il-sung who is entitled eternal president of DPRK .A large chunk of the population is enrolled in military because that’s their prime focus and that's why it has the 4th largest army in the world even though it's a small nation.Socialism which is actually the central policy of the Goverment is a sham , only to mislead the world .

Controversies and N.Korea

·         North korea’s never Ending battle with their rival Sibling South Korea has intensified to many proportions since 2010 and thereby Bringing the 2 most powerful Nations U.S and China against each other with US taking South Koreas's side while China has always been a long term partner of North. The experts believe that squaring of Us and China in the name of this Korean War has the power to Embroil all the nations into it and thereby causing a potential threat of World war 3 and mass destruction due to Nuclear weapons.

·         Due to the government's secretive nature and its reluctance to allow in foreigners, North Korea is today considered the world's most isolated country .also it has the worst human rights records of any country.
·         The leader kim-jong-il of the country is proud enough to refuse food aid from most of UN countries to help recover the poverty-stricken population.South korea on the other hand is the mirror image of North with a developed economy much due to a strong foothold in the technology sector.
·         The capital of North korea –Pyongyang is no less intriguing ,known to be a mere showcase city to hoodwink world media and hide the underlying poverty.Various account by visting journalists have described the disparity that exists between Pyongyang and the rural part of the country where earning three meals in a day is hard enough.
·         But the Controversial North with China keeping it's back has offlate been in news for many reasons which are largely infamous namely firing artillery shells and tropedos on a south Korean island and allegdedly sinking a war ship of south korea respectively which has severly angered the South korean resulting into military deployment by South on it's borders and an extensive military warfare training with US to show North that They are not going to sit Idle either .

Future

As things stand presently there are two very drastic possibilities in the future:

1.THE POWER STRUGGLE : After kim-jong-il retires as there has been much speculation about his health. There are also rumours in south korea that il's youngest son Kim-jong-un might become the next leader .If someone else tries to contest for the job ,a struggle may ensue bringing further instability.

2. A KOREAN WAR: It wont be wrong to say that SOUTH has had enough of the ways of the NORTH.South korea is currently on a Powershow with US with mock drills being carried out both by army and among the people living near DMZ(De-militarized zone). If that happens CHINA is likely to face the aftereffects as more n more people will flee to their land .A bigger threat is the employment of nuclear arms in the war ,consequences of which will affect the world on the whole.

ARREST OF BINAYAK SEN-"VERDICT TOTALLY POLITICALLY MOTIVATED"

This article shows the inefficiency of the judiciary of our country which is unable to differenciate between right and wrong. It could be easily influenced by the strong political pressure.Arrest of Binayak Sen is just an another example of its inefficiency.

Somedays ago Amartya Sen, a Nobel Laureate, spoke on the verdict of Chattisgarh court sentencing doctor-activist Binayak Sen  to life on sedition[pulling  state down by violence] charge.According to him,he has been misjudged and wrongly punished for the crime which he never commited.Though Amartya Sen says that "the matter is subjudice. But as an Indian citizen,I must exercise my own judgement to ask if this verdict is correct. It cannot be suggeted that Binayak Sen,accused of sedition, because his writing indicate violence is wrong."

Binayak Sen,a doctor by profession, has been alleged to help the naxalites through his writings. But it seems that our political leader feel something different. They played a political motivated game and charged him for helping the naxalites and made him look like a traitor.

Bianayak's story is all about dedication of a great human being. It brings to light a miscarriage of justice. It focuses attention on Indian democracy.and it shapes vision of a future to which Binayak makes a big contribution. This verdict has a threatening nature and seem to have a political motivation.Any intelligent person would find that the judiciary acted very pecurily.

My view over this verdict is that i totally support Amartya Sen's views. We should understand what would be better for us in future.Binayak only showed the problems of naxalites. They are our own country people and country can't progress without taking them with us.It deals in things, not human beings, Binayak and others, including myself, believe that to judge a nations progress,we must see what is happening to people's life.

It also raises a question over our judiciary? On it being influenced by political pressure so as to deny someone from justice. Our country need to have a strong and independent judiciary so that no more incorrect verdict like Binayak's occurs.

INDIA'S CHANCE IN UNSC AND WORLD POLITICS : Explaination For Noobs !

India is one of the fastest growing economy in today's world..India has the world's second largest population and is the world's largest liberal democracy. It is also the world's eleventh largest economy. Currently, India maintains the world's third largest active armed force and has nuclear weapons..So now we need to push ourself for the permanent seat in Security Council as a permanent member.Presently in unsc there are 5 permanent members : France, Russia, United Kingdom and United States,China.

India's Chances :

India's Bid is Backed by 4 out of 5 member's France, Russia, United Kingdom and United States. The only country which was undecided on India's Bid was China. But In response to U.S. decision to support India,China said it "understands' India's aspirations and it is willing to carry the 'consultations with India' on the issue. After positive sign from U.S.A, India decided to put their part in the R-I-C summit[Russia,India,China].Recent history has turned China's official support for India's candidature from negative to neutral to positive, in correlation with stronger economic ties. China has previously indicated it would support India's bid for a permanent seat, but without a veto

India also have a stronger chance then their competitors like Brazil, Japan, Germany, South Africa because in 2010 presidents of all the 5 members of UNSC visted India and all supported India chances,India being the largest democracy in the world, having highest gdp growth after china have a stronger chance to grab the seat.

Also US and Russia are Threatened by the Growing rise of China and US fears that it's Dominance in the world could be challeneged By china and therefore They want to Bring In a Asian country that can neutralise China's Presence so the Only options are Japan and India,But since China are Superly against Japan,India's chances have been Brightened.

Only Roadblock in India's bid is the opposition of Pakistan to it.

Other Contenders

1) Brazil -- Perhaps the strongest contender amongst all.

Points In Favour

  • South america, a big continent has no representation at all in the UNSC permanent members whilst from Asia china is already there.
  • It is also supported by France, US, UK, Russia.
Points Against

  • China has shown no official support for its bid.
  •  Mexico and Argentina two important South american countries oppose Brazil, a Portuguese-speaking country in a largely Spanish-speaking Latin America.

2) Japan --

Points In Favour
  • Strong Support from Us.
  • Japan is the second largest contributor to the UN's regular budget.
Points Against
  • Super strong dissaproval From China,North and South Korea.
  •  because of the perceived refusal of Japan to take full responsibility for its World War II atrocities as well as its potential militarism, and a fear from the People's Republic of China that Japan could become a regional counterweight to its own influence and power.

3) Germany

Points In Favour
  • Germany is the third largest contributor to the U.N. regular budgets next to Japan.
  • Support From UK,Russia,France..
Points Against
  • Already 2 out of present 5 are Europian countries so another europian country Doesn't make Much Sense.

4) African Country

Points In Favour
  • Africa is the 2nd largest and populated Continent in the world and has no representative in Unsc permanent members
  • Africa has the most UNSC countries but still no permanent Seat.
Points Against
  • Biggest problem for Africa is that There is no One unanimous Contender South Africa,Algeria,Nigeria,Egypt, Ethiopia

  • Ethiopia was one of the founding members of the United Nations; South Africa has one of the largest and the most developed economies on the continent; and Nigeria is the most populous country,Egypt being a Muslim nation will satisfy the Demand of all Muslim Nation's in the world wanting a Muslim country to be a Part of Unsc permanent Nations.

Of the Chinkys and Neapali's: Please Stop Sir !

United India

Some days ago, I was watching a show called 'Splitsvilla' in which a 'Delhi' girl contestant called another contestant from 'North-East India'- 'Chinky' and commented on her community, then you can imagine, there was a big CAT FIGHT. When the host of the show asked the 'Delhi' girl that do you know the meaning of word that you used and have you heard the term 'Racism', she was being innocent and told that we in 'Delhi' called them by this term only and she sees no racism in that.

What I mean to say from the above incident that we often use the words like 'Chinky' and 'Neapli' without knowing the meaning of them for our own Indian people because if you know what those words mean you never use them. So I want to tell you their meaning...READ CAREFULLY...
CHINKY means a person who hails from CHINA and NEPALI means a person who hails from NEPAL. Since both CHINA and NEPAL are foreign countries, the CHINKYS and NEPALIS (as we call them) should be foreigners but mind it, they are not... THEY ARE AS INDIAN AS YOU ARE.

They are not only called as foreigners  but also treated them like also( remember a scene from the movie 'Chak De India' where some boys molest the North-East Indian girls and the servant called them guests in their own country). Just think for a second what you feel if you are treated as some foreigner in your own country.

Once a famous politician gave a statement in his newspaper that “Sachin Tendulkar is a true Marathi.” In answer to that the famous legend cricketer said ”He is an Indian first, then Marathi.” We should learn from Tendulkar that India should be our priority over her states.

The above example is not the single one about racism within Indian people. If you look around, there are such more examples like how the people from UP and Bihar are treated in Delhi, how the North Indian people are treated in South India. In South India, they dont consider Hindi (the national language of India) as their own language. Most of the people there dont understand hindi.

We should think, just not think but feel that we all are one, we all are Indian and we all are united, otherwise that day is not too far when some other 'East India Company' will rule us with their 'Divide and Rule Policy'.

Why India don't/can't produce BIG?

Warning:-Before reading this article,i want to tell all the readers that its a so called criticized article and its solely my view .so no fights please. i respect my country and will always speak which is good for it.

Its one of the very basic question that has haunted me for quite a some time from now.i mean, why can't we deliver our BEST in any of the field??Why we satisfies ourself with only 80%, when we have the capability to achieve even more than 100%.??

We-after all,as a citizen of India and as an admirer of our brave, intelligent, focused minds[no need to name them].I don't see anything out of the world in INDIA say,the biggest dam,or the biggest airport .I am not saying that these are the indexes on which we count our development. But still, it matters a lot!!! These developments are made possible by regular hard work,far-sightedness,passion and of-course without corruption.

I don't want to divert this article on corruption, but i cant help,it is the root of each & every problem in India.
This year only has witnessed some of the biggest scam of the decade, not to forget CWG-2010 and A.Raja's fav 2G scam.[Its is also favorite of our opposition, this has given them a chance to demand JPC.holy cow!! this politics is just to cool :P]

yeah we come to the matter, please don't mind my sneak-peaks :P.

The whole world knows that  India has one of the most potential market,it will be not wrong if i say,one of the best, stable economies in the world.we have already seen ,how American's economy toppled, with the best investment banking and wealth management division of BoA namely-Marrill Lynch got down and many national banks got bankrupt. But when we see India, we still had our economy growing.[thumps up!!!,its good for us.]With our economy still growing(rate of 8.90%),the Indian market had loads of opportunities for the bankers, investors, and even techies!!

Infact India is the strongest candidate to be given the UNSC seat.now the question arises, that why can't that BIG happen here???
The BIG here means, any Impossible or out of the world construction, good and safe rail network or may be fastest train[a maglev train or so], the best fighter plane of world[100% made in India and better than those americans used ones].

If we see our neighboring country and one of our rivals [our government generally don't accept it],ahhh!! you guessed it right ,i am talking about China. It has done almost the most impossible things in past few years. It has one of the biggest dams, connecting bridges, more warheads than India, almost the best labor, best exporting market[the so called made in china],has almost covered indian border with a rail link, has already started showing Arunanchal Pradesh in his geographical maps.

Why can't we do anything when we know we can be in a big trouble after few years??its because we don't have a decision making capability???Or lack of far-sightedness??Or even bad, a corrupted party???Or even worse-lack of resources, funds etc??
From the above questions i agree with only the bad situation that is may be due to corruption.I don't think any other big reason for this.No doubt,as i have already said we indians have the best mind.So as far-sightedness already comes with it and also we are no longer the third world country!!

One of the famous spiritual leader tweeted long back-it was like, Indians are lazy,if they shed their laziness their progress rate will be twice than that of China's.Even I agree with him.Its not that we dont work,oh C'mon yaar!!we all know whats their in Public sector.you want your work to be done-it will be done in a sec but conditions apply.and the condition is your file must carry a 100-or even big note!! and i think we are still lacking the Killer Instinct to outperform.

So we all know where our fault is and we even know how well we can do.after all we have the 3rd largest number of engineers in the world.and yeah we can do it!!and that too with a bang.
Jai hind.
